Higgledy Garden giveaway – TWO complete cut flower seed collections for 2014

I mentioned Higgledy Garden and his cut flower seeds. I also mentioned a giveaway. Here it is.

I have an ENTIRE 2014 collection of Ben’s cut flower seeds to send to two readers.

Each collection is worth £19.50 and has twenty cut flower seed varieties exclusively tested in the Higgledy garden with the help of Harry Twelvehats the orangey dog.
Have a peep at the mosaic above. This is just a small selection of the beautiful flowers you could grow next year. Oof.
Here is a lovely quote from a Higgledy customer (Tracy):
“I love Higgledy cut flower seeds – the selection is perfect for my cutting patch and their
germination rate is fantastic. Ben’s blog is my go-to resource for all things
flowery.”

The flowers you could grow are useful for:
  • Beautiful posies,
  • Jaunty hats (this one is made of borage)
  • Dreamy, floaty drifts of enviable garden loveliness.

Oh and it’s not too late to sow hardy annuals from the cut flower seed collection now. As long as the soil is above 7 degrees C and frost free (which it certainly is in most parts of the country at the moment) then there’s the opportunity for stronger larger plants next year through the power of the secret root ball.
Please leave a comment below to have a chance of winning. There’s only one condition – pop over to Mr Higgledy’s gaff and tell me which is your favourite cutting flower.
Also, do a tweet (I’m @silverpebble2) and there’s an extra entry in it for you. Nice!
I’ll keep the giveaway open until this Friday (4th October) and draw the winner on Saturday (5th).
(So sorry, EU only I’m afraid due to sending-seeds-further-afield rules)
All photographs are from Ben’s website and are of flowers he grew from his own seeds.

Ooh Mrs P – am I the first?

What a lovely giveaway 🙂 our garden looks like a tip after the building work but it's due for a huge revamp and the aim is to fill it with colour.

    Sooo, my favourite?

It's a toss up between cornflowers and scabious – at a push I'd have to go for scabious!

I'd have to go for Nigella
    http://higgledygarden.com/products-page/classic-cut-flower/nigella-love-in-the-mist-miss-jekyll-oxford-blue/

We found we had nigella in the garden when we bought our home, and just love it to pieces! The bottom of our garden was totally covered in brambles and nettles, but once my OH cleared it the nigella appeared the following spring. It was such a lovely surprise!

This is terribly unfashionable, but I love gypsophila. It is so pretty and delicate, and looks good in the garden, as an accompaniment to larger flowers in a big arrangement, and on its own in a tiny vase – perhaps with one little rosebud or freesia stem.
I often have to arrange flowers in church – and gyp is a wonderful help there, or take a small arrangement to the bedside of a sick person, and it is so sweet and delicate.
And its name means 'lover of chalk' – and reminds me of school and blackboards [I am a teacher!!]

would love to be in your giveaway xx

I think if I had to choose only one favourite cutting flower it would have to be the cheeky Eschscholzias. I just love the stunning tangerine colour.

    I have everything crossed… it's very uncomfortable!

And a beautiful flower. I really like his blog, very uplifting 🙂 I also love forget-me-not flowers though, there probably my favourite flower. Emma, those Higgledy Garden flowers are all really lovely, and it's difficult to pick a favorite. However, pressed to decide, I choose Centaurea Cyrus Cornflowers … Blue Bells. Their classic beauty gets me every time I am lucky to spy them with my little eye.

(If I were to be lucky enough to win some of these seeds, I will send you an address of a UK friend whose garden would be very deserving.)

    Best wishes. xo

    I LOVE calendula.
I have been interested in medicinal use of herbs and the main feature of my garden had been nothing but herbs.
From this year, however, my passion has completely shifted to grow cutting flowers thanks to Higgledy Garden.
I'm hoping I can make my own calendula infused oil next year. Please let me have the prize!
