Foraging for wild plums

A few years ago I had never eaten any wild food. Then I realised that there were wild plums growing literally yards from my front door. I have written a blogpost about foraging for and baking with wild plums over at Garlic and Sapphire, the Sarah Raven blog. If you’d like to read more then pop over here.

I have some lovely plums from a neighbours garden and I am off to make some oaty crumble squares from a recipe you posted in 2010. I have really enjoyed reading all your old posts since I ' discovered' your blog. Can you just let me know when you are reopening your Etsy shop as I want to buy a present for my cousins daughter's 18th. Karen x

Lovely post there! I don't do as much foraging as I'd like, but every year we do manage to go out and get blackberries for jam and pie and all sorts of delicious things. I haven't seen any plum trees in my neighborhood, perhaps I should go exploring in other areas!
