We’re spending Easter doing very little except crafting, eating, sitting and a spot of walking.
The last few weeks have been so frenetic and busy for us all that we needed this quiet time.
Saturday afternoon was the first time in weeks I’d managed to get into the garden to actually look at what was growing. I planted these anemones back in October.
I’ve been loving the girls’ drawings recently. There have been bouncing pigs, playparks and a lot of zhu zhu hamster portraits, but their Easter chick pictures have to be my favourites.
Thankyou so much for dropping by and especially for leaving comments here. They mean just as much as when I started this blog nearly four years ago. Jewellery-making and teaching has been filling my days much more recently, leaving little time to photograph and share what I’ve been up to. I miss this space and particularly miss finding out what others have been making. I think I need to change the way I approach it. How do you fit blogging into your week? Is there a particular time or day put aside for it?

I'm lucky and have lots of time to blog, but lately I've been posting less frequently -no particular reason.

I have a smartphone, so I try to check blogs whenever I get a moment or two. Otherwise, I get behind (like this weekend I was too busy with work around the house to check in) and it's really hard to catch up. Staying on top of it makes it feel so much easier to handle.
Love your little Flower Fairies, they are so pretty. Their drawings are such fun.

Your girls look beautiful in their spring crowns. Home time crafting and just being is very much needed and does wonders I think.
Saw some lovely shots of your stall at Selvedge (think it was via Hensteeth?). Hope all was a success as I'm sure it was.
Time – well I think it's juggling and squeezing a few more hours out by not going to bed for long. That's the only solution I've found. I'm teaching three and a half days a week, which means preparing for each 6 hour stint the night before at 9pm once all in bed. Then I grab a few hours making and usually get to bed by 1am. I try and take a load of random pics at the weekend and then get at least one post in late at night. That's the only way I've found of juggling it all. Like you I really enjoy blogging. I like the connection with other people and I enjoy the creativity of taking photos and writing something around them.
You'll find your own balance. I can't believe how you are achieving all you are with such young girls, but you are and doing it so well.

I tend to make posts in batches, and then spread them out over several weeks.

As to blogging, my posts (and commenting) are much more sporadic now – it's important to 'feel in the mood' as pressure causes stress and removes pleasure.

I am also lucky as i am currently at home with the kids. I tend to spend half and hour or so as soon as i get back from dropping my eldest at school first thing. My son is usually happy to play for a bit…then we go out. Reading other people's blogs is my treat, like reading a magazine, so i tend to do that in the evening.

I don't find as much time to blog as I used to either, it tends to be about once in a week or ten days. I don't have a set time other than usually in the evenings. I do keep in touch on Facebook and some people seem to be posting photos on there of what they've been doing but I don't worry about not blogging so much. I just do it when I can.
So lovely to see you again Emma! I love the 'hippy chick' photo of the girls – sounds like you had a good relaxing Easter after being so busy.
I took a break from my blog for quite a while but missed checking in with everyone and the creativity of making a post. I set aside certain times of the day to comment and usually post twice a week. I'm not usually commenting at 11.45pm !!! but I'm off to London tomorrow for a few days and wanted to drop by before I left.

Just had to say that your girls look gorgeous with the flowers in their hair and the obvious smiles. Sweet drawings. I'm loving having my children home for the holiday.
It is hard to squeeze in the blogging when you've got a lot of other creative things going on. I feel as though I only have a certain measure of creativity, and when it's concentrated in one place there's not much left over for other things. For me, blogging and blog-reading at night seem to work best.

I don't have a blog (although some have suggested that I should) but I do read several (and enjoy what I read otherwise I wouldn't bother!) But I find we all find time for what we really enjoy and things we don't enjoy are sidelined. Family and work obviously have to come first, but then we have options. And for some, the option is to blog. It's the modern method of communication … the Victorians perhaps spent as much time on their postcard collections, their ferneries, cut paper work …

It must be the time of year as I've recently been thinking a lot about blogging and time and how to fit it in around work and all the other things that make up one's life! Even as an ageing grandmother with no family nearby, I'm still juggling with work/time. Life is never dull though!!

Everything seems to be crashing into each other in my diary – so I sympathise with the feeling of panic about lack of time.
I tend to do the must-do things, then the prefer to do things (inc blogging), then the should be doing things. If I'm short of time I plan a blog post to coincide with something important – a new print/gallery/art-fair, then I do it on the planned day.

Glad you found a little peace over Easter. My fair photos were not good (too dark in there) but it was such fun to come and visit. Don't stress too much about the blog-lite phase. To everything there is a season – just embrace what's going on.
Oh, you know me. I am all about the meticulous timing and the blogging game plan.
Love love love the kiddies drawings – so beautiful. I go in fits and spurts with blogging time – I'm not as regular as I was when I first started, but still love to get comments and marvel that someone else is interested in what I do.
I love the photo of your girls too. I try to blog as an alternative to television or other evening activities, which I admit probably means that I read fewer books than I used to. I have discovered over the five years I have been blogging that it is important to both write and read – sometimes when I have been very busy I have managed to keep up with writing and given less time to reading. That doesn't work for me. I need to take inspiration from other people as well or it all begins to feel a bit too navel gazing!
We enjoyed some quiet time this Easter too, sometimes it's good, isn't it, to just step away from life's hustle and bustle.
Finding time for blogging is never easy – I try to write two blog posts a week and to keep up with what a fair few other bloggers are up to – but lately I've been making myself stick to a blog reading/writing routine and that has certainly helped. Friday morning is now officially a blog catch up morning for me as it's a time when I don't have much else going on.
Those chicky drawings are so sweet, I know that you'll treasure them. I have a huge pile of Amy's early drawings that I can't bear to part with! And your two beautiful girls look just like spring fairies, say thanks to them from me for waving their wands and bringing the blossom. I have no tips about fitting blogging in because often I don't either! I grab what quiet moments there are but there never seem to be quite enough. We'll still be here though when you do get time, until then enjoy your creating and teaching time x
Aren't children's drawings wonderful. We have a large plans chest drawer of E+F's paintings and drawings – they are always so free..until they get older.
I blog as often as I can or feel like it – I don't have a specific time for it – sometimes I think of two or three one after the other. But that is rare. I try not to let 2 weeks go past without blogging – but that does slip sometimes.

I can sympathise with the blogging problem – I am very part-time at best at the moment! The only answer for me is taking plenty of photos, so at least when I do have a bit of time in the evening I have something to blog about. The less I use my camera, the less I blog.
