Giveaway: Kirstie Allsopp ‘Craft’ book AND a silver clay kit

I mentioned a giveaway recently. This is a very exciting one. I have joined forces with my main supplier of silver clay and the woman who taught me how to make things from it, the lovely Juliet of Spoilt Rotten Beads.
Silver clay is the medium I use to make my jewellery. It is a ceramic with particles of sterling silver and an organic binder that can be modelled, dried and fired on a gas hob to create beautiful fine silver pieces.
I’m thrilled to say that that Juliet has offered a silver clay starter kit for the giveaway alongside my extra copy of the new Kirstie Allsopp book!

There is only one exclamation mark there but truly, this is fabulous. Huge, huge thanks Juliet.

The kit contains 7g of silver clay, enough to make about 8-10 beautiful charms or two or three pendants, and all the tools you need to get started.

So, not only could you browse through fifty lovely tutorials (including my silver button tutorial) and beautifully-styled images and see pictures of Kirstie learning things but you could begin to make your own fine silver jewellery too as the winner will received both.

I plan to begin posting silver clay tutorials in the coming weeks, so that more people can discover how ace this special clay really is.

You may have seen Kirstie Allsopp using silver clay to make a beautiful key and leaf pendant on Wednesday evening’s episode of Kirstie’s Handmade Britain. If you missed it there is a video here and a tutorial here.

So, to the nitty gritty of the giveaway:

If you would like to win this giveaway prize (the book plus the kit, worth a total of around £59) then please leave a comment here telling me:

  • What you would most like to make using silver clay
  • Four of the items in the Artclay silver starter kit*
The giveaway will also be posted on Spoilt Rotten Bead’s facebook page for Juliet’s customers to enter.

If you would like an extra entry then feel free to grab my button and link back here or mention it on your blog:
This giveaway is open to everyone, not just UK readers.

Juliet and I will put all entries into the random number generator and draw the winner in a week’s time.
Best of silvery luck! (Oh and please check the nitty gritty above for entry requirements, many thanks).

I watched the programme and would love to win. Finances really tight right now, but my daughter is 30 in the new year, and I want to make her a really special piece of jewellery. She has been a great support to both her partner and her sister through times of illness – and works really hard for charity. She deserves something special, to show how proud I am of her and how much I love her.

I think I'm wary because I know how beautiful your work is and I'd set far too high standards for myself!

This is probably the best giveaway I've ever seen! Since I bought my silver bird from you I've been telling everyone about silver clay and how it's used – this has prompted some pressing questions which I've been unable to answer, and having a go with it myself would put me in a better position to explain! So thanks for this super opportunity – I've put a link to you on my blogsidebar too.

I'd certainly love to have a go at the silver buttons you've done in your tutorial, but I'd also give some of the clay to Ben because he has a real talent for modelling tiny figures and I'd like to see what he came up with!

Four items from the kit (chosen because they have the grooviest sounding names) are:
    Sponge sanding pads

Oh my! What a fabulous giveaway. I have to confess that I saw your entry on your blog about your tutorial and went straight off and bought the book – because I would love one of those button pendants. So if I won, I would be making a silver button pendant (and one fro a friend who I know would love it.
Oh and the art clay starter pack contains (amongst other things!) tweezers, burnisher, 7g of the slow dry Art Clay Silver 650 and a 12 page instruction booklet. As well as being currently sold out 🙁

What a spectacular giveaway! I would make a small pendant and matching pair of tiny studs, I would give them the texture of a loosely woven fabric or perhaps lace as I'd like to combine both my passions – sewing and jewellery. I've been making jewellery for about 15 years now and have never made anything for me. Reading your blogpost has made me stop and think about what I would love to make myself – thank you!

This is such a lovely, and generous giveaway! I went away and thought about it a bit and I think I'd try to make a little charm for each of my girls for Chrismas – they love that sort of thing, and love me making stuff for them.

The kit includes – 7g Art Clay Silver 650 Slow dry, Tweezers, silver polish and cloth, a roller – this is beginning to feel like the generation game, and sponge sanding pads.

Hope I am not too late.
