MAKING
I have long wanted to knit my own dog show but as a slightly wobbly wielder of needles I’m not sure I have the skills to fashion a leg or ear.
and this one for Lil the regal whippet cheers me up though. The thought that there are knitted piglets in the world is very lovely indeed and Lil reminds me so much of Minnie our sprightly old lurcher that it’s uncanny. If you give these a try PLEASE send me pictures.
I have recently succumbed to Pinterest. I didn’t think there could be any other online places I could become addicted to like extremely very much but I was wrong. I made a crochet inspiration board. And then I discovered the MINIATURE CROCHET AND TEXTILES.
Also I WILL be attempting this great tit.
BAKING
Printmaker Kathy Hutton tweeted some delicious-looking orange super simple fork biscuits and after a clamour she shared the recipe. It’s next on my baking list…
FOR THE VERY TRICKIEST TIMES…
When baking or making is just not possible here are these badgers scratching their bellies amongst bluebells,
these joyful sifaka lemurs who like to gallop about as though they’re playing horsey – watch for a minute or so and it’s like a particularly unusual version of the 2.30 at Newmarket.
This parody of Brief Encounter by Victoria Wood is one of the loveliest things on the whole of the internet.
*Huge apologies if I haven’t been answering your emails very promptly
I hope your energy returns soon Emma. Lots of lovely gorgeousness in this post.
Emma, so sorry you've been feeling below par, I do hope things improve for you this coming week. That tiny crochet is amazing, and oh, that miniscule guinea pig, love him! The great tit is wonderful, I shall look forward to seeing if you make him. Twitter is something on my to-do list to get to grips with, mostly for my other half's business. I've bought a book, but I'm a bit scared to open it. Really must stop being ridiculous, take a deep breath and get on with it though. CJ xx
Sorry you are not feeling great. These times come somehow and your little holiday sounds a very good way of dealing with them. I am having a couple of days in bath with my own emma next weekend for just that reason. She needs a little break and I love the chance to have some time with her. And those knitted animals! I am totally smitten. Must have the book. Must make the pigs! Take care.
You had me at "miniature crochet"……
Thank you for some wonderful treasures to brighten up the day. That tiny guinea pig- so gorgeous! If I was more adept with needles or hooks I would have a go. And that Victoria Wood sketch – I spluttered into my cup of tea! Hope you are feeling more dapper soon.
Lovely post – some really sweet thoughts for dark days, thanks for sharing them! I have been stuck in a low rut lately and I find crafting to be so cheering. I think I might have to have a go at some of those knitted animals…
sending you a hug lovely Emma x
Lemurs playing horsey – now there's something I never expected to see! I hope you start feeling better soon…
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but it looks as though you have found a wonderful way to pass the time on your way to recovery. I can't wait to sit down and look over some of the other blogs. Especially, the miniature crochet! But oh my, I have too much BIG yarn to start stashing little yarns!
Cindy Bee
Emma, how kind you are to share all these wonderful creative possibilities with us. I cannot possibly pick a favorite amongst them!
Hoping that your energy continues its steady return! xo
So enjoying the creativity. Desperately wishing I had more time and a bit more energy to participate.
The apple blondies will inspire me if I'm not too tired after tonight's gym. They look quick enough.
Hope you are feeling better!
That tiny crochet!!
Xxx
Thanks for sharing the video . I just loved it.
Hey dear Emma, your definatly not alone with how your feeling at the mo. I do hope you feel better soon, I think it's this time of year, dismal weather and grey skies are tough to battle through, I've been feeling low as well. Love your crochet goodness on here and so glad you had a mini break to clear the cobwebs as a change is always good for the soul. I've been drawing a little everyday after work and baking some apple crumbles and it definatly helps, honestly it's like my version of therapy! Hope you feel better soon and your little ones too, love Safxxx
Pahahahahahaha the great tit has made my day! And somewhat eclipsed the tiny crochet stuff, which was the frontrunner up until then. Teeny weeny blankies and birds!!!
