Last week I Spring cleaned the studio.
I changed my postcard/inspiration wall to match the new season. I left the painted vintage seedtrays where they were. They’re ready for Open Studios in July and with the addition of a few tacks are great for displaying my jewellery.
The collection of postcards is a little more colourful than last summer, which I think stems from the sudden blast of Spring colour in the garden and from the enamelled colour I’ve been adding to my silver recently (new items will be in my etsy shop soon).
I adore the patchwork curtains Thriftyhousehold made for me.
The piece of bright vintage embroidered trim I found on Etsy (draped amongst the seedtrays and postcards in the second image) is a favourite recent find. £2 bought me 3 metres of Spring happiness.
My studio had a very exciting visitor on Friday. She and I sat up there and chatted and drank tea and ate apple cake.
I’ll be able to reveal more about this in June.
Meanwhile littlest has recovered from the horrid ‘flu she had last week and is enjoying being up in the studio with me today.

Your studio is inspirational not only for its beauty but for the fact you manage to stop it being used as a junk storage place. (I just know my husband would fill it as he has already done this in the house).

That is the cutest studio! I have a neat little shed out back of our farmhouse, but currently it's full of boxes. I need to clean it out and decorate it like a garden shed. Thanks for the inspiration. I wish I was close enough to take the silver clay class! ((hugs)), Teresa 🙂

I love your new enamelled designs and the postcard display is wonderful. Glad your little one is recovering and enjoying the sunshine with you.
I am sure you could never fail to be inspired by having a studio like yours. I try to do the same in my little back room but I think that having a space away from the house is what really makes it. I can at least open the window onto trees and birds (and a nice sunny breeze when the day allows!).

I'm betting there's still a little nip in the air (at least around the edges?) but I'd be doing the same. Throwing open that beautiful studio and inviting that fresh season in!

Why are there no slugs? Even my kitchen has slugs in. That's in a garden, for heaven's sake.
The studio looks amazing! I wish I had one… Although I am enjoying watching the world go by in the sunshine at the moment – seems to make everything look that little bit better!

Saw a link to your blog from Tales from a Cottage Garden blog, and am amazed to see your studio which is soooo like my little summerhouse – I will send you a photo of that by email! Love the interior of your studio – I think it's slightly larger than mine, as mine is only 8ft by 6ft (maximum space we had for it) and it's lovely to see how you have decorated yours! Love those patchwork curtains. I don't have any curtains in mine, maybe something I should consider, but in such a small space I think it would be overwhelming. And, although we live by the sea, I've not decorated in beach-hut style, more country garden style.
